Rail grinding

Preventive grinding is performed on freshly prepared rails, which have an oxidised surface layer and other irregularities such as welding joints. Preventive grinding also includes maintenance grinding, which is performed regularly, depending on factors such as railway classification and level of traffic. This grinding aims to control damage or abnormalities on the rails.
